Notes for Denyse Albine Elvire (Spouse 1)
Denyse includes the following in her education summary:
The Regent Street Polytechnic, London
Assas Law Faculty (UP2), Paris
Cambridge University, English language
and litterature and Summer Medieval studies

For twenty years, Denyse worked as a public information officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva and New York, and was sent on mission to many places around the world. In 1987, after the birth of her second child she decided to move to Lugano where her husband was working for the Swiss Radio/TV.

In Lugano, Denyse started a new career in proposing education activities in museums through the creation of a Cultural Society "Museare insieme in Ticino/Mitici". She was also for ten years the correspondent for the Swiss art magazine "VOIR". She was then recruited by the director of Museo Vela in order to set up their Education Department. She fulfilled this job until her retirement in December 2007. Museo Vela is a lovely museum in Ligornetto, Switzerland (belonging to the Swiss Confederation), a villa built by Vincenzo Vela (Swiss Italian XIXth century sculptor) in his native village at the height of his career, that he used also as an exhibition gallery for his works. Mario Botta, the famous architect who is also the author of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, restored the house a few years ago. Since her retirement from the museum, Denyse is still very active in the art world collaborating with various museums and participating in writing/ translating texts, books and catalogues. Since her arrival in Ticino, Denyse has also developed an interest in genealogy and started a long lasting job putting together, classifying and translating the family archives in order to reunite them in a book on the genealogy of all the Pratician families of Aurigeno.

As of July, 2008, Denyse was working on a detailed genealogy of her family which she hopes to publish.

Denyse has been a major contributor of information to this website.
