Celestino went to San Francisco in 1885. He then went south to Cayucos, California where he worked on local dairy ranches and, ver a period of 6 years, earned enough money to pay all his debts and to return to Switzerland in July, 1891. He married in Switzerland and in 1898 he persuaded his father, Antonio, to return to Switzerland from Idaho, USA, where he was living with Celeste’s brother, Aquilino.
